Tanynya’s career passion has been dedicated to social justice and wellness through creating a platform for social change and is currently a consultant and speaker in the areas of diversity, inclusion, school admission, and wellness.
She earned a degree from University of Southern California with a BA in English, American Literature and soon after completed a two year term as a member of the USC Black Alumni Association’s Board of Directors.
As the Director of Admissions at Vistamar School and the Manager of Admission and Operations at the Independent School Alliance she created and delivered programs including a scholarship program, diversity, inclusion programming, professional and personal development workshops and key note speeches.
Her involvement in diversity and inclusion education expands to the national level through the National Association of Independent Schools People of Color Conference as an Affinity Group Facilitator, Student Leadership and Diversity Conference Faculty Member, and a workshop facilitator at the White Privilege Conference.
Through the African American Board Leadership Institute she received leadership training and shortly after became an active board member at Westmark School, an independent school that serves students with language based learning differences. She served on the Assessment of Inclusion and Multiculturalism Team and Head of School Search Committee. She continues to serve on the board as advisor for inclusionary practices.
